Bundesjazzwerkstatt

The “jazzwerkruhr” initiative in 2010, which ran under the motto “5 cities, 5 musicians, 5 festivals” and focussed on synergy effects between regions, musicians and festivals, showed that simple ideas can also bear astonishing fruit. Musicians from Cologne, Mannheim, Dortmund, Hamburg and Munich formed a band named Bundesjazzwerkstatt, rehearsed and played at important festivals in their respective cities. This Bundesjazzwerkstatt was so successful that now, in 2012, a third team is touring the nation, this time with 6 participating cities (Dresden with “Jazztage” has joined). The Rhine-Neckar region is represented by the Mannheim saxophonist Alexandra Lehmler, which Enjoy Jazz is especially happy about. Enjoy the special atmosphere at the Glashaus in Ladenburg.
