As this year’s Artist in Residence, Michael Wollny is using the opportunity to present the different aspects and interests of his broadly ranged artist personality. This evening, running under the title “Science and Fiction”, will not only surprise declared fans of the pianist, but perhaps also the musicians themselves. Planned are improvised musical dialogues to classic sci-fi texts in changing constellations, read by the US American artist Mark Harrington. The innovative electronic artist Leafcutter John is also participating. He not only released the eccentric piece of music “The Forest and the Sea” on “Staubgold”, but also experiments with sound in the British avant jazz band Polarbear. Trombonist Uwe Dierksen, member of the Ensemble Modern, was already guest with a solo programme at ENJOY JAZZ two years ago. Dierksen has occasionally freely improvised with Wollny. You can see, the team for this evening was chosen with care. We are looking forward to a sonic adventure of voice, keys, electronics, trombone and text.
