Bugge Wesseltoft : p

Keep moving! Don’t let anyone tie you down! Stay curious! Remember: in 1996, the Norwegian pianist, composer, arranger and producer and “Jazzland” label owner Bugge Wesseltoft promoted his growing interest in improvising club music electronically with “New Conception of Jazz”. A little tongue-in-cheek. In Norway, the album with the same title was honoured “Album of the Year” and became an international sensation. This did not stop Wesseltoft from releasing an atmospheric piano solo album with Christmas songs shortly afterwards. “It´s Snowing On My Piano” not only became a best seller but also a long seller. In the years to come, new projects kept popping out of Wesseltoft’s magic hat, which he also liked to present at the Enjoy Jazz Festival. As a soloist, in duo with Sidsel Endresen, Henrik Schwarz or Henning Kraggerud and in trio with Henrik Schwarz and Dan Berglund. 20 years after “It´s Snowing On My Piano”, Wesseltoft is releasing a new piano solo album titled “Everybody Loves Angels” in autumn, dedicated to the weightless lightness music can convey. His programme includes Bach compositions, Norwegian folk songs, a few pop classics by Simon & Garfunkel, Cat Stevens, Bob Dylan and the Beatles. Wesseltoft promises: “This time it’s an album for all year round!”
