Shared Reading is a literary intervention developed in Liverpool. It is based on the idea that literature provides a shared language that can help us to understand ourselves – and others – better. In 2017 it came to Heidelberg where Karlstorbahnhof and Shared Reading Deutschland set up a large network of trained, voluntary reader leaders who offer Shared Reading Sessions all over Heidelberg and the Rhein-Neckar Region. Most of these groups read in German, but there also is a frequent English language Session at Karlstorbahnhof for all those who may not speak enough of the language to read a story in German, who want to practice their English or who are simply curious to try something new. Shared Reading warmly invites you all to join in! For the Enjoy Jazz Special Edition we will read a jazz-inspired short story and a poem and we exchange our thoughts, impressions and ideas. Free entry. No previous reading, experience or preparation required.
