Audio dramas formed an integral part of the avant-gardist literary scene in the 1960s and important authors and directors would produce elaborate works for radio broadcasting. This memorable era is over, but a small renaissance is happening in the form of a multimedia live event in Heidelberg. The ensemble "die artverwandten – Gesellschaft für abwegige Literatouren" has been experimenting with and presenting the sheer endless possibilities in this genre since 2018. In 2018, they adapted Andersch’s "Fahrerflucht"; in 2019 they continued paid homage to Ray Bradbury. Now “die artverwandten” present a classic with diverse speakers, their own compositions, evocative video projections and light effects. Friedrich Dürrenmatts piece “Der Besuch der alten Dame” questions issues of morale, guilt, corruption and temptation. It is evidently still highly relevant for issues in today’s world.
Second event on 6 November 2020
