“If nothing works, just repeat a repetition”. If you translate this format into jazz terms, it will usually mean: play standards. Vocalist Lucia Cadotsch (Schneeweiss & Rosenrot; Yellowbird) and her two musical companions Petter Eldh and Otis Sandsjö simply turn this formula upside down. They first created their musical means to then blow the dust off a whole century of great standards like “Speak Low”, “Gloomy Sunday”, “Willow Weep For Me” and “Moon River”. Their concentration and concepts create access to the essence of the material. Vocals, bass and saxophone only! Their debut album album “Speak Low” was released in 2016. As Petter Eldh says: “This is the remix. Keeping it simple and raw. (…) The frequencies of yesterday still resonate. This is acoustic retro-futurism.” And we bow down to them!
