Sebastian Weiss aka Sepalot started as DJ for the Munich Blumentopf crew. At the same time, he also released solo albums. After Blumentopf ended, Sepalot decided to present his electronic music in a live band. And consequently the Sepalot Quartet was born. Their debut “A New Cycle” played Sepalot’s old material and was released in 2018. It all worked so well that they went on to record “Nownext” with exclusively new songs. They combined hip hop with jazz sounds, used downbeat groves, landed in good old trip hop, added some electronics and mixed it all into melancholic urban miniatures that draw the listener into their flow. There are elements of St. Germain, Nightmares On Wax, Mars Mobil, Enders Room and a trace of Roosevelt. Sounds good, right?
