It all started when Sebastian Voltz, jazz and classical pianist, contacted guitarist Susan Weinert to ask her for the scores of one of her compositions. He more or less lives round the corner, so they got to meet, discovered they had the right chemistry and started playing together. In the beginning of July 2018 they travelled to the famous Bauer Studio in Ludwigsburg to play a studio concert that was be released as a strictly limited vinyl edition. However, the music on this evening was so special that the planned format was abandoned. Susan Weinert used the master copy to release her 13th album, “Beyond The Rainbow”, on her own label “Tough Tone”. They play virtuously, poetically and it just feels really right. The pieces have titles like “Eisblume” (frost flower), “Mohnblume” (poppy flower) or “Die Kraniche” (the cranes). We would say this is subtle ecological home-grown trio music.
The concert is seated.
