Board of Trustees

The board of trustees founded in 2016 triggers new creative processes within and around the festival und supports future strategy and planning of the brand Enjoy Jazz. The foundation of the board of trustees was taken as an occasion to openly question and refine the promising and successful approaches and projects that already existed among all kind of actors.

Dr. h.c. Manfred Lautenschläger

Manfred Lautenschläger is a highly respected entrepreneur, foundation founder and patron. After his resignation from a chairman position at the MLP AG he founded his foundation, the Manfred-Lautenschläger-Stiftung, where he is committed to the patronization of science and culture as well as improvement of living conditions of minority groups. In 2008 he received a honorary doctor's degree of the theological faculty of the University of Heidelberg.


Matthias Brandt

The German actor was member of different ensembles of big German theatres after his first occupation at the State Theatre of Oldenburg in 1985. His big breakthrough was in 2002, when he played the DDR agent Günter Guillaume in the movie "Im Schatten der Macht". He was honored with der Bayrische Fernsehpreis [Television Award of Bavaria], die Goldene Kamera, as well as twice with der Grimme-Preis and der Deutsche Hörbuchpreis [German Audiobook Award]. He is known for playing many-faceted and abysmal characters.

Ulrike Hacker

As an expert for branding and communication Ulrike Hacker participated in the build-up the culture house Alte Feuerwache in Mannheim and directed the press and public relations sector of the city anniversary of Mannheim in 2007 under the leadership of today's mayor Dr. Peter Kurz. She is a founding member of the successful Mannheim literature festival „lesen.hören“ under the auspices of Roger Willemsen and conducted the programm of the festival until 2013. Since 2013 Ulrike Hacker is management assistant in the culture center Karlstorbahnhof and has also become self-employed as enterpriser.


Michael Sieber

Michael Sieber, was a member of the Landtag for many years for the German conservative party CDU and from 1998 to 2006 state secratary in the ministery of science, research and art. At present he is member of the following boards of trustees: Schwetzinger Festspiele (chairman), ZKM Karlsruhe, Kunststiftung Baden-Württemberg and Kulturstiftung Rhein-Neckar. He is jury member of der Bremer Literaturpreis as well as patron of Enjoy Jazz.


Dr. Werner Dub

Dr. Werner Dub has made a career in the power industry. At last he was board member for 15 years, from January 2000, at MVV Energie AG in Mannheim. Before that he was CEO at Ferngas Nordbayern GmbH in Nürnberg and held various posts at Rurhrgas AG in Essen. His career started at the International Energy Agency (IEA) in Paris.

Dr. John Feldmann

The chemist John Feldman was a board member at BASF SE until 2011. After that he became a member of different suppervisory boards (KION Group AG, chairman, member at the HORNBACH group), the board of trustees of Hector Stiftung II as well as multiple boards of trustees and development associations of different cultural initiatives, among others at Festival des deutschen Films, Festspielhaus Baden-Baden, Stiftung Kunsthalle Mannheim and Nationaltheater Mannheim.

Atli Saevarsson

The Icelander Atli Saevarsson was hindermost retail director in the Mannheim enterprise Dorothee Schumacher. Before that he was commercial director at Hermès Benelux/Nordics. Altogether he has more than 20 years of experience in the fashion branch, i.a. at Prada and Hugo Boss. Noting his degree in philosophy his path into the fashion industry was pretty unusual. Thus, he supplementarily performed a master's programme at Mannheim Business School. At present Saevarsson is doing research on philosophy in conjunction with fashion and style.

Udo Tschira

Since 2009 Udo Tschira is chief executive and shareholder of session GmbH & Co. KG, a major and innovative trading and service company within the sector of music, media and culture. In the time since that Udo Tschira and his team achieved to establish session with its regionally firmly anchored branches as well as its constantly evolving web shop as one of the top five german music stores. Additionally Udo Tschira has become managing director of the Klaus Tschira Foundation. It belongs to the biggest non-profit foundations in Europe who aim to foster natural sciences, mathematics and informatics. Udo Tschira has studied jazz and popular music at FMW Frankfurt and played in diverse jazz and pop bands over a long time period.

Horst-Günter Remanny

Horst-Günter Remanny is managing director of mobisys Mobile Informationssysteme GmbH in Walldorf, Baden-Württemberg, Germany. Based on longstanding experience as sales manager and with his entrepreneurial spirit he turned mobisys into a leading supplier of software products for integration of mobile solutions into SAP systems. His personal passions include vintage vehicles and wine besides jazz music. In all fields, commercially and in private, Hörst-Günter Remanny focuses on the sustainability of quality over the years. Therefore, according to the philosophy "culture as communication" the firm mobisys supports chosen cultural events whose goals match their policy. 


Jürgen Fritz

Jürgen Fritz is responsible for marketing and business development at SAS in the region of Germany, Austria and Switzerland. In these functions he works on business and market communication as well as go-to-market strategies of SAS Analytics-Lösungen. He has longstanding knowledge in the areas of customer experience management and digital market strategies. He is intensely paying attention to questions of controlling, leadership and future-oriented management ideas. He has graduated at Heidelberg university as a diploma psychologist before taking over a crucial part in the build-up of SAS in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

Dr. Roland Geschwill

Dr. Roland Geschwill is a fouding member and executive director of "Denkwerkstatt für Manager" which is equipped with expertise in the Anglo-American as well as in the German management fields. Already since 1986 the psychologist counsels managers. His standard work "employer branding" (together with Florian Schuhmacher) was published by Springer Gabler. On top of that Roland Geschwill is involved as executive spokesman in the club of "Friends" of Enjoy Jazz on a voluntary basis.


Karin Heyl

The studied philologist Karin Heyl was working in the department of arts and science at Dresdner Bank AG from 1990 and from 1999 member of the management boards of Jürgen-Ponto-Stiftung and Kulturstiftung Dresden simultaneously. From 2004 to 2006 she was head of Kulturkreis der deutschen Wirtschaft in BDI e.V. as well as the work group culture sponsoring. After six years of management in the Crespo Foundation Karin Heyl switched to BASF SE. There she is responsible for social involvement.

Joshua Redman

Joshua Redman counts as one of the most prominent modern saxophonists. Even though in the first place he didn't fokus on music he dived into New York's jazz scene in a one year break from his studies and it only tool him five months to win the prestigious "Thelonious Monk International Saxophone Competition". After this he toured and produced records with well-known jazz stars and got signed by Warner Bros. Records. Ever after Joshua Redman performed live with different pathbreaking music groups.
